Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how compleo consulting GmbH (“we”) processes personal data in connection with the website orgchart.compleo.ch and the product coOrgChart. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Visiting this website
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the date and time, the requested page and your browser type in order to deliver the website and protect it against attacks.
To measure the success of our advertising, we use the Google Ads tag of Google (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA). It sets cookies and sends Google data such as your IP address, the pages you visit, the ad that brought you here and information about your device. You can block these cookies in your browser and manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. Apart from this tag, no fonts or scripts are loaded from third parties.
3. Contacting us
If you write to us by email, we process your details and your message to answer your request. Our email is hosted by Google (Google Workspace). We keep the correspondence as long as needed for the request and as required by law.
4. Buying coOrgChart
Purchases are handled by our reseller Creem (merchant of record). Creem processes your payment and billing data under its own privacy policy and issues the invoice. We receive the information needed to provide your licence and support: company, name, email address, country, plan and licence key.
5. Licence service
To check trials and licences, the coOrgChart web part sends the following to our licence service (hosted by Cloudflare) every few days: the tenant ID of your Microsoft 365 organisation, its SharePoint address (for example contoso.sharepoint.com), the version of the web part, the number of people shown in the chart (only the number, no names) and, once entered, the licence key. We store this data together with the plan, the licence status and the times of the first and the latest check. We use it only to manage trials and subscriptions, including checking that the plan fits the size of the organisation, and keep it for the duration of the contract and as required by law.
6. The coOrgChart web part
coOrgChart runs inside your Microsoft 365 tenant, in the browser of the people viewing your pages. Directory data such as names, job titles and photos is loaded from Microsoft Graph and cached only in their browser. This data is never sent to us. We therefore do not process your directory data on your behalf. Apart from the licence data described in section 5, no data reaches us.
7. Disclosure abroad
Cloudflare, Google and Creem may process data outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the USA. Where these countries do not offer adequate data protection, the transfer is based on recognised safeguards such as the Swiss–US and EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
8. Your rights
You can ask us for information about your data and request its correction, deletion or the restriction of its processing, object to the processing and receive your data in a common format. Write to support@compleo.ch. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or to a data protection authority in the EU.
9. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. The current version is published on this page.
